Project Overview
This duplex home had a narrow stairwell that made a conventional concrete or heavy wooden staircase impractical. The owners wanted something structurally strong but visually light enough not to close in the space.
Scope of Work
- Site measurement and structural load assessment
- Fabrication of the steel stringer structure in-workshop
- On-site welding and installation of the staircase frame
- Fabrication and fitting of slim steel balusters and handrail
- Anti-corrosive primer and final paint finish

The Challenge
The stairwell's tight footprint meant a bulky staircase would have made the space feel cramped, but the structure still needed to safely support daily use for a family of four.
Our Solution
We fabricated a custom steel stringer staircase with slim balusters and open risers, which kept the structure visually light and let sightlines pass through the stairwell, while the welded steel frame itself provides significantly more strength than the footprint would suggest.
